Hey there, reader. I’m so glad you’re here!
Let me guess – are you a travel junkie? Do you have a full time job? Are you constantly annoying your friends with your travel plans and dreams? If the answers to these questions are yes, duh and yes, congrats, you came into the right place. Welcome home!
Jeeez, thanks. But who are you?
Yes, right, I think this is where I’m supposed to introduce myself. Is this the worst intro ever written on a “about me” page? I think so. ANYWAY, my name is Andrea, and I’m twenty-something Italian-Brazilian gal currently working as an engineer in Milan.
To be honest, I’m really just your regular millennial. I love eating exotic food, petting kittens and binge-watching Netflix like any sane human being. But, on top of that, I also love travelling. Very, very much.
I started writing on Green & Turquoise a little over four years ago. At the time, I honestly did it out of boredom. I figured a website could have been a great mean to channel my
obsession passion and get in touch with a community of like-minded people who actually wanted to annoy the hell out of each other with constant travel chit-chat.
Four years later, surprise, surprise, I was right! The travel blogging community is nothing but amazing, and I had the chance to be inspired by so many fellow creators.
Mmmk, that actually sounds nice! But what’s so special about Green and Turquoise anyway?
Well, in my opinion, there are more than enough articles out there encouraging people to wave adios to their desk job and set off on an endless adventure. You can literally google “travel” and find a dozen posts titled something along the lines of “I Quit My Job to Travel the World and You Should Too!” – which is absolutely great of course, if this is how you really wanna roll. I just feel like aspiring travelers sometimes assume that this is the only way to do it.
The fact is, some people simply don’t have the desire to leave their present lifestyle behind in order to travel. As a matter of fact, neither do I.
Well guess what? You definitely don’t have to quit your career in order to travel the world, and my goal is simply to show you how.
That’s why I decided to focus my travel blog on short-term travel, providing 2-weeks itineraries, 3 to 5-day city guides and travel inspiration based purely on my experiences. In the past 3 years only, I managed to hike Machu Picchu, visit Petra, wander the streets of Jerusalem, party in Greece, soak in the sun in The Amalfi Coast, admire the colors of Marrakech, live it up in Mexico, and visit Copenhagen and Stockholm. And I did all that with my vacation days, public holidays and A LOT of planning.
I really hope I can help or inspire you to do the same. And since I really want this blog to be about communication, any feedback is always welcome (especially if it comes in the form of cake or cats).
Also, it’s totally OK to stalk me. You can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (my fave!), and Pinterest.
Which countries have you visited yet?
If you’d like to find out more about the places I’ve been to already, check out my travel map below. You can click directly on each country to be directed to my posts. Don’t worry if I haven’t visited your favorite country yet – chances are, I’m working on it!
